Texas, June 6th, 2015 – Day 3
I don’t actually have any pictures of this, but on Friday night we got all crazy and actually set up the projector outside beside the pool after Dad and Mom went to bed. The idea was to swim while we watched a movie. Why not, right? It was really fun, and would have been even more fun if it hadn’t been so cold. The ones with kitchen duty conveniently left after fifteen minutes, but most of the rest of us stuck it out for a whole hour before running inside, teeth chattering, to change into warm clothes. Maybe in Mid July.
Playing chess with a very nice Uncle Packy.
We found some plums, and they were great. Plum picking actually beats mustang grape hunting on our property.
The forbidden gas well. And behind it, the Hill of Despair the younger girls used to take people to climb. Or try to climb. The sand makes it tricky.
As you can see, they did climb it, but not without sliding half way down at least once.
Back at the house, there was a party going on in Melody’s room.
Hannah: “NO MORE PICTURES!!”
Brothah’ and sistuh’, yeaah! Uh-huh.
Gah! Even up on a chair, this lens isn’t wide angle enough to get the room. 🙁
Clarke seemed to appeal to Rollie much like Kurt does. I found him attached to him like a leech several times. Clarke was very good-natured about it.
Poor Cameron, he’s the boys favorite uncle, and they wore him OUT. That’s not why he’s sleeping, though. They wore him out at least a day before that.
Sara’s surprise for Wesley – she wanted some revenge for all the times he’s scared her into screaming. He and Clarke and everyone else, come to think of it. Anyway, Wes is the best at it, so he got the revenge: chocolate covered cotton balls.
However, he wasn’t going to let Sara have unadulterated revenge, so he actually ATE the cotton ball. No way he was going to be grossed out by that. By golly, he’d just eat it.
I forgot to re-set the aperture….. I can only blame it on not being used to the new camera. Regardless, Oliver is super cute, and he loves the kitty.
Pepa and Meme came for supper. They were here on Friday, too, but I didn’t get any pictures.
All the guys hung out on the side porch.
And the little guys hung out on the sidewalk. I think Kai did 70 laps around the house on Saturday, and 33 more on Sunday.
Continuing the sleeping Hurd picture tradition….
Simon LOVED all the sea food.
This is Micah’s mischievous look, where he’s trying to decide if he wants to tell Simon the crabs are bugs. Simon does not appreciate bugs at this point in his life.
As you can see, Simon is still enjoying his food, which means that Micah restrained his prankster self.
Unfortunately, nobody captured the dark moment when I walked by Melody’s chair and was caught in her clutches. I tried several times to escape, but she eventually carried me off into the house despite my thrashing. It was definitely a moment.
