Waiting semi-patiently before they were let in. This is a real personality proving ground – Kai and Rollie restrained themselves, but Jack was up at first light, and checking the tree, ready to play with anything that might be out. I had chase him out twice before we were actually ready to get up.
We did some serious geeking out this year; not only did they get a RC tank, but they also got lightsabers, lightsaber toothbrushes, and Star Wars t-shirts.

After breakfast we drove to Stone Mountain to join the J’s on a Christmas day hike around Stone Mountain. It was very wet because of the rain, but that just added to the fun. And the blisters.
Me, trying April’s Christmas binoculars, and April, trying my glasses, “What?! I can see!” Or something like that.
Instead of a lightsaber battle between Marty and Kurt, I only managed to capture Marty, charging me like a sparkly rhino. Or unicorn.
After about 4 1/2 miles, Jack said he ran out of running power. He also had blisters because of his wet socks, which might have been the more crippling problem.
