New Year’s Even in SC

We had a lovely time with Marty’s cousin, husband, and family in South Carolina for New Year’s weekend. The kids had a great time together, we had some great conversations, and Rachel and Nemiah trounced us soundly at spades.

We visited an old mining site called Nanny Mountain and went to a local church’s fireworks display on New Year’s Eve, probably the most fun I’ve had at a firework show since I moved from Texas. It’s the amateur part that makes it really great. Anything can happen. Besides, there was a bonfire or two, hot chocolate, and fudge. It all helped.

Amazing sliders with turkey and lots of bacon. So amazing.
